I have to admit that every post about fresh fruit and beautiful flowers growing in your yard make me jeeeaaaalooouuus. Growing up in CA I loved picking cherries off our trees. Living in AZ… well, the fruits and flowers aren’t quite so abundant. Except, of course, our delicious citrus.
OH MY GOODNESS!DOES that look like FUN and DELICIOUS! I love cherry ANYTHING! Unfortunately my son is highly allergic to cherries so none for us! YOur little one looks so sweet holding her harvest!
Oh, my goodness! My favorite fruit is cherries!! You grew cherries? I’m so jealous!! These look so wonderful and you’ve made me drool!!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Loved it! Especially your little cutie with the harvest. :) I love recipes that go straight from the garden to the table. :)
Unfortunately, my weekend is not shaping up. Missed church this morning b/c the right side of my face was completely swollen. I looked like a freak science experiment. Benadryl and cold compresses have helped. Praying it doesn’t come back overnight. I’d like to enjoy the holiday with everyone else. :s
Gorgeous cherries and beautiful daughter! I’ve never been much for cobbler but I think I might have to give your recipe a try and see if it changes my mind!
Nothing better than fresh cherries. Your pictures are beautiful. I love milk glass, so I love that picture! Have you ever made cherry jam? It is so good on homemade biscuits!!!! Love & blessings from NC!
Few more weeks and we’ll have cherries too(N.Y.)! If the crows don’t thieve them first! ( although the sight of a glossy black crow holding a ruby red cherry in it’s beak is beautiful- once)
Want to make brandied (drunken)cherries this year- anyone have a good recipe?
I feel so backwards…but I learnt two things today…
..what a cherry tree looks like (i know, i know! shameful)
..and that there is a gizmo that de-stones cherries!
lol don’t feed bad Meeks, I am the same way! Love cherries but never saw a tree and I had no idea that that machine existed either! Learn something new everyday!
These “steps” just made me smile! Happy Memorial Day to you too, from the very tip of the coast here in North Carolina(just a few miles away right?)! Love your blog!
That looks yummy!! FYI for next time…don’t pick the whole nodule with the leaves, just pick the cherry and stem. It does take longer but you will get better yields next year. (our family had a cherry orchard and my parents drummed that into me) The starts for next years blossoms are in those nodules. Cheers.
One of the best memorial day posts I read. I don’t know if your “ten steps to…” is a feature around here but it absolutely should be. Adding you to my reader so I don’t miss out. And when I learn how to follow, I’ll do that, too ;)
What a wonderful post!
ooo–you had me at step 1! You lucky girl!
Looks delicious. I’m so jealous you have a cherry tree. They are one of my favorite fruits but so expensive at the store.
