Weekend Reading

By Kate Riley February 13, 2015

In the past few years, my wardrobe has transitioned from play-it-safe to feminine edgy. I’ve accumulated a dozen moto jackets that I wear in winter with black pants or jeans but in spring with maxis or floral tops and so this bathroom speaks to me because if this powder room with its metal and bling and elegant curves and abstract pattern was an outfit I would so wear it.

  1. You mentioned you buy feminine but edgy clothing. As a mom of three, I am trying to change my wardrobe also so that I don’t just wear safe clothing anymore. I want my clothes to be more fun! Any store you recommend?

    • Hi Heather – I shop everywhere from Target to Nordstrom and have some luck online too – I really like White House Black Market and Express too.

  2. Would LOVE to see a post with more details about your wardrobe transition! From the little peeks that we get here, I know you have fabulous style and would love to hear more about how you got there. I’m trying to do the transition from frumpy-casual-play-it-safe-mommy-wardrobe to something a bit more put together, yet still comfy and functional. Would love any tips you can share!

  3. Ok, this bathroom is hot! I would wear this bathroom too, if I could. Or live in it. That marble sink against the black and white wallpaper and the soft pink flowers– love love love. I just landed on your blog, and am so thankful. Enjoying the content. I actually just started my blog (decorenvy.blogspot.com), and would love for you to drop by, if you can. Thanks in advance!

  4. Loved the story of the 95-year-old matron of honor–but I had a bit of a surprise when I read the name, which is the same as my paternal grandmother’s.
