Hello all, it’s ‘Best of the Blogosphere’ weekend, yahoo! Amanda and I team up every two weeks to bring you our favorite ideas we’ve spied around the blogosphere. Wood seems to be the theme of the week, with several projects focused on stain. Here are our picks for this round!
I heard about the new “Classic Gray” at the Minwax booth at Haven so when Ana White used it on this jewelry cabinet, I just fell in love with the possibilities. Now you can recreate the popular graywash stain that’s all the rage in design, I can’t wait to use it too.

A Walmart crib gets a few coats of red Chalk Paint courtesy of Leslie at Felt & Honey and now it is such a bright spot in this nursery!
Two folding screens projects made a splash this past week, the painted indoor folding screen by Diane and In My Own Style, the outdoor privacy screen by Jen at Tatertots & Jello, both are a great way to repurpose old doors.
Brass pulls definitely give a piece pizzazz but they can be costly when you buy them retail. We’re loving this affordable DIY alternative for brass ring pulls created by Sarah M. Dorsey.
If your set of ubiquitous folding chairs is making you yawn, then make them happier by spreading the spray paint love around like Ms. Blooming Homestead did with her painted metal chairs.

Thanks so much for including my wood veneer project in this week’s BOTB, Kate and Amanda!! So many great ideas here. Can’t wait to try that gray stain, and those diy brass ring pulls are genius!
Great features – that refinished table is amazing! And I love those brightly painted folding chairs!
Loving the door repurposes and the Fun folding chairs!! Great round up =)
I love Minwax Classic Gray stain. Used it on signs made for our local Humane Society Thrift Shop. I stained the wood first, then used creamy white to paint the wood. After a sanding of the edges for a distress look, I glued on the wording cut with the wonderful silhouette.
Always great finds. And though I know the Apt Therapy find was about the floors, I about FELL. OUT. my chair at that gorgeous chevron/stone wall. Sweet Jesus.

Kate, Thank you for featuring my kitchen table! I’m honored to be among such talent! ~Linda
I always love this feature since you guys only put up really helpful posts! A big thanks to you andAmanda!
Aack! So excited to see the Minwax “Classic Gray” on something as I just bought it to do my pallet table! I’m going to love it! The pic of the sanded & restained tabletop is going to have my cousin & her farmhouse table loving each other after a bit of hard work!
Great features! I can’t wait to try the new Minwax! And I love those colorful chairs!
I have a black folding chair with a pleather seat that I thought about painting. Glad to see these!
Wow! That table top is stunning!
there are some great posts there but I would advise against the way they stained that deck, spraying and rolling are not recommended generally as they do not get the stain into the boards enough. It is always recommended to brush it. LOADS more work but better longer lasting results.
This is the BEST best of the blogosphere yet!! Want to pin and do each of these projects! (Except the hardwood floors…already got ’em) Where to begin??
I’m all up on those bright and sunny metal chairs! Love them!
That wax and glossy table top got me swoonin’! I found a small bare raw wood table at the thrift store for $6.00 on which that gray wax would look fantastic! And I would love love love to gloss up an old thrift find with a gloss like that!
