Hello and happy Monday! We had a non stop weekend filled with activity, on Saturday we built garment racks with a team of volunteers for the Work Clothes Closet project, I’ll share the basic assembly and supply list tomorrow. Yesterday, I caught the holiday bug so we opened up the Christmas closet and I started decorating in the living room, I love the annual ritual of bringing out the ornaments and decor and styling them around the house.
Are you setting a holiday table this year? We will be spending Thanksgiving dinner at my parents’ house in Las Vegas so my Mom and I will recreate a version of this table. Christmas dinner will be spent there as well since my brother’s family is traveling all the way from Savannah that week. New Year’s Eve will be at our place, so I bought a set of these fun confetti appetizer plates for our dinner party with friends and family.
I like to purchase things that can be used again for other occasions, I’m drawn to white with gold and/or silver since the palette is festive and universal. For a simple and elegant presentation, add some twigs and painted pumpkins for Thanksgiving; touches of blue for Hanukkah; berries, pinecones, and candles for Christmas, and something sparkly for New Year’s Eve.
A no fail formula includes a gold or silver charger, basic white dinner plate, cloth napkin, wine/water glass, and silverware. Layer with a tablecloth or runner, add an accent plate, or introduce new barware or serveware for added charm! Here are a few favorites useful for a table settings from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve.
