Black and white is a classic, yet trending again in design, have you noticed? Last year we painted the living room walls Rockport Gray by Benjamin Moore and the French doors gloss black and together with the baby grand piano, it feels so sophisticated in here, so black and white inspired this year’s Christmas mantel.
I picked up two sets of curvy candlesticks last month from Joss & Main and framed some $1 silver sprays from Michaels on black paper together with a favorite birch print.
How do you like the wreath? Surprise, it’s one of my designs for Lynch Creek Farm! I’ve raved about Lynch Creek Farm for years (here and here) and our relationship began back in 2011 when I needed greenery for a Better Homes and Gardens photo shoot.
Earlier this year, they approached me to design a line of unique wreaths and a tabletop mini tree. I was sent a box of goodies filled with faux berries and ornaments and told to add my personal touch!
I used mostly what they sent me, but added my own ribbons to the wreaths which they were able to later source. I designed the wreaths and tree at home, photographed them, and sent the photos and list of embellishments to the farm.
At Lynch Creek farm, they recreated the look then photographed the wreaths for the season. I’m so excited to share the final designs today and let you know they’re currently available for sale for holiday decorating and gift giving!
The City Skyline wreath which hangs above my mantel includes silver and gold ornament clusters, glitter pinecones, gold and silver berries, and looped black & white striped ribbon.
I couldn’t resist a teal blue version since it’s my favorite color, the Glacier Bay wreath includes clusters of aqua, teal, and white ornaments, blue berries and looped teal ribbon swaged to the side for a chic presentation.
The Tartan Tree showcases clusters of red ornaments, silver and red berries, and is topped with a big tartan bow, a classic for any holiday vignette or centerpiece.
A few things to know about Lynch Creek Farm, the Washington state business uses sustainable practices and local farmers and they do not cut down trees! The wreaths and centerpieces are handcrafted with clippings from noble fir, juniper, and cedar. Lynch Creek Farm is serious about preserving the forests and habitats of the Pacific Northwest. Their wreaths are 26” and six pounds so consider a wreath hanger (sold online) to go with. Lynch Creek Farm also crafts centerpieces, garlands, holly, swags, and more.
The collection is elegant and festive and I’m so glad to have this opportunity to partner with my favorite source of holiday greenery on the web!
You can order any of them from Lynch Creek Farm, they are limited in number so if you want one, order it today! All prices include FREE SHIPPING. It’s so amazing to have fresh, fragrant greenery shipped right to your door, when you open your box your home instantly smells like Christmas!

Love the garland – such a cool idea! Thank u for sharing
Congratulations Kate! Your designs are beautiful. I love the ribbons and how you haven’t over embellished the wreaths. They’re so chic.
Love the rug, thank you for the link. Is your rug (Fieldstone colour) a mushroom colour, or more grey? I’ve just imported some of the Bella Porte Charcoal fabric to NZ for our curtains (we are building a house, so many decisions!) and was wondering if it would work with the charcoal in that?
Your home looks gorgeous Kate. Very elegant and classy. It’s always fun to see what you do each Christmas! The wreaths are beautiful that you designed. I need to order the City Skyline wreath. I love the classic black and white. Might need to get one for myself and one for my sister. Is the pillow one of your fabrics?
Kate- what a fun opportunity! You did a lovely job designing these beautiful wreaths!!!
I LOVE that City Skyline wreath! The striped ribbon is so stylish and classy.
Your mantle is perfect. I love the room. You are so talented.
Very classy, comfy and inviting!! I love your farm collection!! Rug is beautiful too
I love Black and White….just not for Christmas! While it looks absolutely stunning, I prefer all my old Christmas decorations that I’ve collected, inherited, or were gifted to me, for years and years. Some people may think it looks like a “mish-mash”, but every piece has meaning.
Love the color and the garland!
I would not have thought of using Black and White to decorate for Christmas until I saw your post – your mantle looks amazing! Thank you for introducing me to brand new decorating possibilities.
