Greetings all and Happy Memorial Day! I hope you all are enjoying the extra day off. Today we recognize our men and women in uniform who have served to protect and defend our country, we will never forget your sacrifice.

  5. Hi Kate, Sorry I have to correct you but Memorial Day is a day of rememberance for those who have died in military service, Veterans day, Nov. 11th is the day we celebrate the living who serve or have served. For more information go to http://www.usmemorialday.org/backg.rnd.html. Thank you.

  6. I reread your post and thought maybe by sacrifice you did mean those who died in service. Sorry if I misread that. I grew up in a military house and have tried to educate people on the difference. Thanks.

    • Yes Debbie, that’s what I meant. My grandfathers and uncles served in the wars and many family members are presently in the military. Both days are so important.
