Ohhh, yay! My first giveaway entry. My favorite thing about fall is watching the leaves change, the cooler weather, and spending all the holidays with friends and family!! Slowly becoming my favorite season. :)
My favorite thing about Fall: there’s too many to choose! I guess I’d say my favorite thing is experiencing a new season: the changing leaves, cold, crisp air, and the smells of Fall are amazing too. It’s my favorite season because it feels like a fresh start.
My favorite things about fall are the colors, the clothes, the crisp weather, the foods… Everything just makes me want to nest at home with a big pot of soup and a fire!
My favorite thing about fall is being able to wear chunky sweaters with skinny jeans and boots. It always feels so warm and cozy when i have a sweater on.

MY favorite thing about fall is the smell in the air…the crispy,crunchy leaves. The fantastic fall colors…sweaters, cider, hot chocolate. Its my favorite season.
My absolute favorite part of Fall and Halloween, is hanging up my 21 BATS – made out of stiffened black felt from a template I found online a few years ago. We have a pretty brick arch surrounding our front door, and I’ve got it all down to a science. Super-heavy duty tape makes them all stay in the mid-flight stage, through rain, wind, and blazing hot sun. I force myself to wait until October 1st, but really I’d love to get them up today! They are the perfect centerpiece to the rest of my fall decorations – mums, pumpkins, scarecrows…. Oh but wait, I just remembered the Ghosts we made last year! They are a close second favorite. They, too will come out on October 1st, and hang and dance from the tree branches. My boys love it all!!

I love everything about fall, the cool crisp air and the beautiful leaves, but my absolute favorite thing is our yearly trip to the pumpkin farm! I gather a few neighbors and their kids, and we pick our own; a whole carload is $50! We split it, so for $10 or $15 I can fill my home, porch and front yard with pumpkins galore! I have plenty to get creative with, carving, painting, gilding, etc!!

The weather changes from blazing hot, humidity and sweat to crisp and bright! The beautiful colors of the trees are delightful and I start feeling that urge for last minute camping and hiking trips! I LOVE decorating for the fall season! The warm tones of pumpkin orange, the smell of cinnamon and cider… I am SUPER EXCITED!!! This year I’ll be handing out treats (or tricks, haven’t really decided) for the first time!!! Me and my fiance will be doing some DIY crafts to help liven up our homestead with the seasonal treasures: twig candle holders, branch candelabras, and pinecone ornaments! I’ll be starting to bake more bread and sweets too! (I love cooking!)
All and all, I’m a nature lover. My favorite part of fall is waking up to a bright sun, beautiful historic downtown Savannah, GA and wearing my favorite sweaters… I look forward to my morning and evening cups of tea on my back porch!

Halloween is my favorite holiday! I go as all out as possible (I have a small apartment with a roommate so I try not to go too overboard) with decorating, cooking, and costumes (which now are usually homemade).

For me it is the colors of all the leaves and pumpkins and gourds–just everything about fall. We lived in Wisconsin so fall was beautiful with a crispness in the air. There are so many things I love about fall. It’s tough to pick a favorite. Over the years, one of my favorite memories is taking my boys (who are now 6 & 8) to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin. I would always come home with a beautiful new mum which inevitably die over the winter but we had such a great time going for a tractor ride and exploring the farm for just the right pumpkin to display.

My favorite thing about fall, since we moved to a quaint town in San Joaquin County, CA, is the obsessively decorated Halloween houses. We have spooky haunted, chainsaw wielding type of decorations to the pumpkin palooza, traditionally carved sort. Orange, purple, and green lights illuminate the night chill for all the trick or treating ninjas and princesses. It is amazing how much effort goes into creating a kid’s Halloween fantasy.

Halloween is mainly celebrated in the USA, right? It is little known in other countries, such as mine. Here in Guatemala is not THAT known, but for some reason it’s been part of my life since I was a little baby. My mom used to take my brother and I trick or treating, and at the sight of such fun activity, I remember my little neighbour friends joining the fun. Today, as a grown woman, I still enjoy Halloween, and since I don’t have kids, I share the fun with my niece. I decorate the house, plan a Halloween night, organize a costume contests… lots of fun! This would, for sure, be an excellent prize! Please count me in. I need to spread Halloween around this place :o)

She would sew together an old sheet and then use fabric dye and it turned out a musty grey /black! perfect! Then, came the homemade witches hat she made from paper mache. I loved carrying a broom and wearing super long eyelashes!

I remember my mom making punch in a plastic cauldron and adding dry ice to make it spooky. Years later she finds out that you’re not suppose to put the dry ice directly into the punch because it’s really bad for you. So I told her I blame her for why I’m so crazy now lol. But it was still really cool.

Fall means football! Tailgating, seeing all the family and friends again at games, that’s the first thing I think of when fall shows up. There’s so many things I love about fall, but I’d have to say my absolute favorite is decorating the front door/porch on our house. I love making a pretty wreath with autumn colors, picking out the perfect pumpkins to set on the ground next to a couple potted mums and maybe some hay bails or spray painted gourds this year.

Hi Kate, in my home based daycare we’ve already starting talking about leaves turning colour and falling, which animals do what to get ready for winter, Canadian geese flying south before winter. I’ve been doing daycare for years but each year I get to relive it again through the eyes of a child who is brand new to it all and is totally amazed by it. Very magical !!

I hate that summer is ending but fall is fun…USF football, cooler (less humid!!) weather, and the cliché fall scents all make me happy!
Fall is the time of great appreciation of the glorious natural beauty even here in the city; I walk along crushing the newly fallen drying leaves beneath my feet. I look in awe at the magnificent colors of the trees as the summer is bidding adieu and this season of transition to winter is pushing me along in a warmer sweater and sometimes even gloves and a hat. There is truly a gift in seeing, feeling and and being in that seasonal shift of weather, gardens and trees. The birds migrating along the river flyway now have calls that differ from the summer birds…the songs change and the beauty of this in between time is mine in which I may delight.

I’m really a Northerner at heart, and when it gets cold, I feel I’m really in my element. I find myself smiling and feeling uplifted as soon as the cold breezes start to come in September or October. There are lots of other things I like about fall. I love the changing colours on the trees, the crisp autumn smells and, I must not leave out, fall’s fashion renewal.

There is so much to love about Fall. Between the colors, the weather and the change of pace for clothes it’s just a great time of year. Overall though, my favorite thing about Fall is Russian Tea. I can remember being little and my Mother making it for me. She’d hand me a mug with the spoon in it and tell me to “stir it just right”. To this day, I can see and hear her doing that! For me, that’s Fall.

I love the smell of the Fall air. There’s nothing like walking thru a big pile of leaves and hearing the swish and crunch. Then there’s the many tastes of the harvest…..yes, Fall is my favourite time of the year. It is a time I most enjoy travelling. I am currently in Portland to go exploring the city and the Columbia Gorge.

I love the smells of Fall… Pumpkin candles, apple cider, and wood smoke when it gets a little bit colder outside. It’s always the time that we go back to having warm dinners like pot roast and roast chicken, and the house smells so inviting and cozy.
Fall has always been my favorite time of year. It was when we went back to school, each year seemed to be brimming with such possibilities. New clothes was a part of it and, more important new school supplies. I still love going to the office store and looking at these. The scent of fall in the morning air always makes me smile, as the weather gets cooler. Raking up piles of leaves to jump and bury ourselves in, then rake them and do it all over again.

Fall is awesome because of the flux of color and change…I Love the crisp, cool air, the rich bounty food that is available and the fact that I can decorate my home beuatifully by just walking outside! My favourite thing about fall are the wonderful smells in the air! The smell of the leaves, the gardens and the farm crops ripening! Being a grain-farm raised girl, I awlays helped my dad harvest the crops he had so diligently sewn in the spring. It was such a special time for us working together as a great team. I loved every minute of it! The night sky out in the country side is nothing you could ever imagine! There are a gazillion stars twinkling in the sky, some nights the northern lights would dance for us while other nights far-away lightning would entertain us . . . and the moon! A havest moon creeping over the horizon and slowly lifting itself into the night sky is spectacular! These are such precious memories to me now as my father passed away five years ago. Autumn is bitter-sweet for me now; truly a beautiful time of year with memories I shall forever cherish, but a time that I find myself really missing my daddy.

My favorite thing about fall is that EVERYONE loves fall. The kids are excited to be back at schoo (at least for a while)l. The boys (and alot of girls too) are happy to have football back. (Our daughter just started high school so we are rooting for that now too, not just college.) Mom’s are into the decorating for the season, the dog is happy to sit outside because the weather has cooled, the husband doesn’t complain as much about doing his honey do’s ’cause the humidity has gone. THe daughters are excited about the new fall clothes and mom can get out of shorts and cover up what should be covered up without having heat stroke. Ooops, I better stop there.
Living in upstate NY, we love to go hiking in the Adirondacks. I love the clean, fresh cool air and the gorgeous fall colors….from the leaves on the trees, to the beautiful mums. We always go apple picking and to the pumpkin patch to bring home sweet treats and fall treasures! I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else if I had to give the fall season up ;)

After moving to FL at 40 from Arkansas, where fall’s sights and smells were my favorite time. I started to fly home to see my Mom every October so I could still enjoy the cotton fields, see the soybeans being threshed, trees changing colors and takin my grandson through the corn field mazes and to roadside stands full of pumpkins, gourds and falls abundance. But the best thing is seeing my Mom and spending time with my family. I come home to Sarasota to host an “orange” party on the 31st. With my house decked out for Halloween, I have some of my older friends and friends with kids all stop by for “orange” refreshments-Cheese dip with olive eyes, dead pumpkin shells (nacho flavored doritoes), pumpkin poop (round cheetos) , mummy crescent hot dogs. hand floating in orange punch, chocolate cupcakes with orange decorated icing etc… Some spooky, some fun-everyone enjoys the kids costumes and excitement. My favorite thing about fall is that I can savor summer well into September! As the mother of a “launched” son and a daughter traveling abroad for a semester, I can rebel in my summer cocktails and garden as long as I want. Soon I’ll get out a whole new wardrobe, entirely for free from my closet when the weather cools!
Fall is ahnds-down my favorite season. The fresh air, sleeping in on rainy days, the colours of the leaves as they change, decorating with gourds, the crunch of the leaves under my feet and being able to wear sweaters and jackets. This year I get to buy a whole new wardrobe to fit my new pregnant belly and expensive but exciting part of the season this year!
This year the cooler temps of fall are most welcome after the unusual highs we’ve had this summer and I have recently moved and for the first time in more than 20 years am surrounded by hardwoods again so I can hardly wait for the leaves to turn. I love going to the local farms searching for pumpkins in the pumpkin patch and picking peppers that the roast for me. I love making my kids Halloween costumes. I love planning gory food to have prior to trick or treating…:)

We live in Fla. so its kinda weird compared to Ct. where I’m from but we do it up big, we make lots of decorations that we put in and out of the house and my oven can’t catch a break probably till summer again. I bake alot of fall favorite such as pumpkin muffins, pies and homemade doughnuts. Iv’e already started!

I’m a traditionalist. Even here in Central California (Fresno), where 100 degree weather is still hanging on, the leaves are starting to change. I love how the trees in my yard and around town change every single day.

It won’t feel like fall until late October here in Texas, but some of my favorite things are foods with pumpkin in them, cooler weather, and fall gardening.

For me, fall is kind of sad – summer’s over, gardens are dying, trees are losing their leaves, winter’s coming (I’m in Canada!), days are shorter and raking (Yuck!).
On the other hand, fall is cooler, less humidity, mums and asters for the garden, beautiful colours on the trees, comfort food, Halloween (love getting dressed up)!
Spring is my favourite season but fall has a lot going for it.

I’m so jealous of people who have an actual Fall. We used to have a full 4 seasons in the NY area, but anymore we just go from hot, hot to cold,cold with maybe a few weeks of transition. But I love those weeks so much. The air just smells so crisp and clean, and I love all the fall produce and the first stew of the season.
You can feel fall as it gets closer…Summer activities and bright colorful blooms slowly marches out, to be replaced by Mums, garlands of fall leaves, pumpkins, gourds and ghouls!
This, is indeed my favorite time of year. Life seems to slow down a little as if to say, hey, let’s take our time with this season and savor every minute of it..cooler days, fires in fireplaces, snuggling under a blanket with a good book, or a good Dachshund friend. The grass grows more slowly (the hubs is excited about less lawn maintenance)…we just relish this time of year…after the hot dry days of summer, God gives us cooler weather to transition to the frigid cold weather of winter. We pull out our cooler weather recipes of soups, stews, chili, homemade breads…hot chocolate and marshmallows! Leaves crunching under your feet as you walk across the blacket of fallen leaves from the Maple tree – raking up leaves into huge piles for dive bombing bodies into them…then the task of bagging those leaves for mulch into the waiting beds. Ahhh…cannot wait until it hits us full force! Come on Fall…we are ready for you!!

Fall is my favorite time of year and there are so many things I love about it. Boots and jackets, the colors (browns, oranges, reds and yellows), pumpkin spice-flavored everything, but most of all I just love Halloween. I was at Michael’s yesterday and they had all of the Halloween supplies out already. It just got me in the spirit. Can’t wait to start decorating!

I have a degree in Interior Design and what better way to use it then turn my house into a scary, spider webs all over, dark haunted house. My favorite part of fall is of course Halloween. Living in MN gives you a chance to experience all the seasons, I just love the smell of a fresh, cool fall!
