Haven Update

By Kate Riley October 24, 2011

Hellooooo and happy Monday everyone. Exciting news!  The HAVEN team has been working behind the scenes for the last few months gathering sponsors, keynote speakers, and making a list of workshops for those who are attending the Haven Conference in June 2012 in Atlanta.

The first part of our exciting news is we’re delighted to have John & Sherry from Young House Love as our keynote speakers, waaaahoooo!

You’ll get a chance to hear their encouraging words and mix and mingle with this magnificent duo, er, trio!  We cannot wait to meet Clara!

Did you know we’ve rounded up some major businesses as our Haven Conference sponsors?  Yep!  Those include Home Depot, Minwax and Rust-Oleum to name just a few!

We’ve provided a full list of workshops as well.  Attendees will get a chance to learn basic carpentry from Ana White in the ‘Just Build It’ workshop and meet Rashon Carroway (aka Mr. Goodwill Hunting) who will be coaching the ‘Thrifty Shopping’ workshop.

There will be other sessions taught by many of the ladies behind HAVEN, I’m signed up to teach at least one too.  For all of you interested in bettering your DIY skills and/or mixing and mingling with those in the DIY & Home Decorating niche, now’s your chance to snag a ticket!

But your ticket to Haven here.

  1. Kate, I was beyond excited when I saw the list of workshops—these are things I am really excited to learn more about. The Photography Workshop looks awesome. How do I choose which ones to attend?! ;)

Can’t believe how many amazing sponsors you all have. And how cool to meet the YHL gang! ;) Richmond isn’t too far from my town.

    Very excited!

  2. I want to go to this SO bad. I will have a 5 month old at home so I have to get the ok from the husband first. I dont have a blog but I LOVE DIY stuff! These tutorials look fantastic!

  3. What exactly does the ticket price include (I saw the measl included)? Does the $199 just cover the hotel cost or does the $199 price include the conf. & hotel? Thx!

  4. Kate,
I don’t have a blog (and have no plans to start one), but I would love to go for the DIY portion. Is it appropriate for non-bloggers to attend?
I’m practically salivating at the prospect of meeting all you folks! (Not in a scary way, though. Promise.)

    • Hey Kristin, you do NOT have to be a blogger, just someone who’s interested in the subject matter and wants to mix and mingle with all of these inspirational people!
      Hope to meet you there!

  5. I’m still considering buying a ticket. I’m glad to hear that they are still available. It’s sure to be a fun event.

  6. Kate,
I’m so excited! I just bought two tickets for my BFF and I to attend the conference. Girls trip! So thrilled to be seeing all of these speakers and the sessions look great! Do we register for the sessions ahead of time or when we get there?

    • Hey Jenn, so excited you’ll be there! There will be an opportunity to register beforehand as I understand. I’ll find out at our weekly meeting!
