Wow, there are some really cool projects going on around the blogosphere lately, I’m so excited to share them with you, this week is full of goodies! Fist bump Amanda for helping me round up some of these inspiring links, let’s get started:
This colorful bedroom designed by Jodi of The Simply Inspired Home combines bold red with bright pops of orange and pink, what a pretty color palette for any girl’s room!
Don’t miss this powder room reveal by Hazardous Design (via Rambling Renovators). How beautiful is that Chiang Mai Dragon wallpaper?
At last, the tutorial we’ve all been waiting for, how to stain butcher block countertops from IKEA to make them darker, what a great result especially with light cabinets! Visit Stillwater Story for their detailed step by step.
Speaking of countertops, have you ever considered concrete? Jessie and her husband tell all in their tutorial on how to make your own concrete countertops at Imperfectly Polished.
Melissa, Shelley, and Sarah are starting a revolution, it’s called ‘Paint your entry door black!’ We’re quite sure many will follow in their footsteps, this is such an excellent idea to introduce dramatic contrast and guarantee a big impact!
This DIY pintuck duvet cover may have taken Courtney quite a few hours to complete, but she can be proud of spending less than $40 to give her bed an updated look, in fact this one may be better than the West Elm version, fabulous!
Not wanting to pay Pottery Barn prices, Erin at Life in the Dub Lane enlisted her husband’s help to build a sweet sandbox for their little one, how fun!
Mrs. Limestone brewed some rather clever bridal shower invitations for her friend’s coffee themed soiree, showing such great attention to detail!
Camp crafts by Craftynest are always so inspiring and fun, this week it’s stitched leather bracelets!
Put a favorite memory on display with a photo print bag just like this one from Sweet Paul.
If you want to learn to reupholster a chair, stop by Little Green Notebook to read Jenny’s series from this past week, she breaks it all down for you!
Finally, you can learn how to weave your own rope pendant fixture with sisal and a hanging planter, a great project featured this week at Design*Sponge.
Thanks again Amanda for your contributions this week, these are truly some of my favorite ideas ever from the ‘Best of the Blogosphere’ series. Be sure to hop over and say hello to Amanda at her blog Serenity Now.
If you’d like your project, space, craft or recipe considered for this weekend post, be sure to send it our way to [email protected].

Embarrassing question: When I am at the bottom of your page, how do I go to “older page”?
Love the photo print bag and rope lighting fixture -everything with rope is nautical to me, haha.

i am drooling over that first room, and i am not even a red person- but i love it!!!
Totally love the girls room. We just recently “decluttered” my daughters room and decorated with lime green and cool aqua colors. She totally adores her new space. I can’t wait to start on another room. White and red it may be!!
Oh my goodness, what wonderful projects! That wallpaper is amazing!
Thank you so much for featuring our powder room! I’m so honored to be amongst such other great projects and bloggers!
Love those black front doors! We have a reddish brick home and have wanted t paint the dark green door forever…we NEVER thought of black!
LOVE that red and pink together. I’m not generally a big fan of red, but it looks gorgeous on the dresser and in the all white room with the pinks.
Just painted my front door a very dark, almost black, eggplant color. Love it with the gray on the rest of the exterior. The door opens into a grayed lavender foyer. I’ m very happy with the effect.
Centsational Girl, I have been and avid follower for over a year now! I never miss a post even if I have to spend an hour or two a week reading past entries I have missed (I try to check every day if I have time). I just wanted to know what your thoughts are about COPPER COUNTER TOPS… I love the wood and granite and your fabulous marbel look but will never have the money to put granite or marbel in my kitchen and wood would be too hard to up keep with my family. I have seen copper countertops in kitchens and think they are so much more warm and inviting than, say, stainless steel. The way copper patinas over time and how steril it is intrigues me. I know its not main stream but would love to hear your thoughts about it. Perhaps one day you will try out copper on a piece of furniture and let us know if its worth the money and time it takes to put on. Would love to hear back from you!!
