Cabinet Transformations GIVEAWAY

By Kate Riley March 4, 2011

Greetings all, TGIF!  The sun popped out and all of a sudden and I’m soooo wanting to visit the garden department this weekend to fill up some planters.  Spring fever has definitely set in!

1306Announcing the winner of last weekend’s Campbell Hausfeld giveaway.  Over 1,500 entries, wow you peeps love power tools!  Guess who gets to choose either the brad nailer/compressor combo or a big bad 2 ½” finish nailer?  #1,306Mom in High Heels.  Congratulations!

Also, there’s a new blog I think you’ll love: Favorite Paint Colors.  I met Kristin in Nashville when this site was just getting started, and now she has a gallery with paint colors from rooms all across blog land.  It’s so helpful to see colors on real walls in real homes!

Hey, speaking of spring fever, are you in the mood for a DIY makeover in your own home?  Remember a few weeks back how I reviewed the Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations kit?  Several of you have used this kit already (like Mallory and Sarah and Debbie) with fantastic results.  And so many more mentioned how you’d seen it at your local Home Depot or Lowes and really wanted to use it in your own homes.

Here’s your chance to get your hands on one!

rustoleum cabinet transformations kits

The kind folks over at Rust-Oleum have offered to give away not one but two of these kits!  You can choose either the small Cabinet Transformations kit ($79 retail) or the large Cabinet Transformations kit ($149 retail).

Rust-Oleum will tint it for you in your color of choice, or you can take it to your local Home Depot or Lowes and have them tint it for you to whatever color you love.  I can’t wait to get my hands on it later this spring for my hall bathroom cabinets!

  1. I would use this in our main bathroom. The vanity is outdated and in need of some TLC!

  2. I can’t WAIT to share my before and after pictures – I am finishing up a project using Cabinet Transformations to completely refinish a set of bedroom furniture (two dressers, a large mirror and two night stands). I can’t wait to use another kit to transform my (very, very ugly) golden oak bathroom cabinets.

Just a question, though – are you giving away the light or dark color kits?

  3. I would use this to refinish a dining room buffet that I just bought at a local thrift store. Sounds really cool, would love to try it out.

  4. I would love to use this product on my kitchen cabinets. They are the same honey oak as seen in many homes in the Midwest and I would love to update them.

  5. i have done all i can do to my two bathrooms… paint, decor, blinds, etc… but the cabinets are truly in need of updating ~ big time. I would chose to use it to update my bathroom cabinets ~Thank you!!!

  6. I am in the middle of remodeling our kitchen! I would use this in there!!!

  7. I would SO use this in our bathroom. I saw this product at Home Depot and have considered using it for our bathroom remodel. It would be much cheapier to revamp the cabinets than purchasing new ones.

  8. Oh pick me! pick me! I would love to try this product on ALL the cabinetry in my house!

  9. I’d use it on an old curio I have but want to transform. It could look so cute if it was spruced up.

  10. Oh my goodness, I’m so glad you’re doing this and I really hope I win! I’ve been trying to convince my mom for months to let me redo her upper kitchen cabinets and island. That’s where I would use this if I won!

  11. I NEVER win these giveaways, but I would sooooo love to try out this new product. We just bought our first home and we are decorating on a shoes string a little at a time. I want to try it on our builder special laminate kitchen cabinets and also was thinking maybe I could do a cherry look on my sons pine colored bed. Heres to keeping my fingers and toes crossed :)

  12. I really really really really need this for the cabinet in my master bath!! It’s currently brown and I want to change it to black with nickel brushed vertical pulls! I’m trying to go for the GLAM look!

  13. I got a 1970’s console stereo for a valentines day gift. (The BF knows I love refinishing!).

I think Cabinet Transformation would look great on it.

  14. We would use it in our kitchen to redo our oak cabinets. We want to remodel the kitchen “someday”, but a cabinet refinish would tide us over and help coordinate better with other improvements we’ve been making :) I love the idea of using it on furniture, too!

  15. We just bought a house and I can’t wait to make progress on updating the kitchen. It’s so funny because I JUST posted in my blog about how I think painting the kitchen cabinets white or cream would look great. I think this product would be awesome for that project!

  16. This is awesome, my husband and I had plans to go check this out at Lowe’s tonight (exciting Friday)! Of course it would be nicer to win it than actually buy it :) Both our kitchen and bathroom cabinets need updating, so that’s where we’d use it!

  17. I would definitely like to try this in my guest bathroom. Although I’m not sure how it would work. The cabinets are currently a black laminate. :-(

  18. We would use it on out Kitchen … we have the 90s oak … great wood but just looks so dated … and the rest of the kitchen is updated ….

  19. We’d be thrilled to get this to use on the ugly bathroom vanities in our house. Or possibly on our boring oak kitchen cabinets . . . lots of possibilities here!

  20. I would love to use it on the cabinetry in our master bath. Our house was built in the early 80’s, and the cabinets are still the same reddish-brown funky stain that they’ve been since day 1. I am absolutely dying to re-do them!!

  21. We would use it on out Kitchen … we have the 90s oak … great wood but just looks so dated … and the rest of the kitchen is updated …. so exciting!

  22. I have been wanting to try this! We have very sad looking kitchen cabinets right now, I think this may be just the fix that we need.

  23. I would love to use this on the cabinets in our kitchen–80s style all the way!!

  24. Lovely. You have so many give aways, I love it. I would DEFINITELY use this in my kitchen…I love the endless color options too!

  25. I have been wanting to try this product since I saw it on your blog. All of my cabinets could use an update, but in particular, my kitchen cabinets are HORRIBLE. The previous owners probably never cleaned them so they are grimy and dirty and could use some MAJOR refreshing! Thanks for the review and giveaway!

  26. This would be great! I’d use it to refinish the cabinets in my laundry room as a test run, but I’d also like to do the vanities in all of our bathrooms, as well as the island in our kitchen.

  27. I think I’d do my kitchen cabinets. Oooh! I’m excited just thinking about the possibilities!

  28. I would love to win this and do my kitchen cabinets. I am currently working my way through layers and layers of wallpaper/paint in my kitchen and my countertops and cabinets are next on my agenda!

  29. I’m in the middle of remodeling my master bath and next on the list is tackling the old cabinet – I’d love to dust off my DIY skills

  30. I just was given an antique vanity table with large round mirror! It has been sitting in my garage! Would love to try this product for this project!!
    juliesfreshperspectives.blogspot.com

  31. I really want to try this product on our kitchen cabinets (which have an awkward pink tint) but I’m thinking I would most likely gift this kit to my mother in law. Her oak cabinets are in dire need of a face lift and I am confident this kit would do just the trick. Easy on the wallet with just a bit of elbow grease involved. p.s. Love the blog Kate!

  32. I have drooled over these at Home Depot and have even already informed my husband that this is how we are going to transform our kitchen from plain jane hickory to dreamy white. He would have no room for arguement if I won this! Thanks for the giveaway.

  33. I would use this to do something with our kitchen cabinets:) it would make me HAPPY to see the very orange oak turn into another color!!!

  34. So cool! I have never seen this product before & would love to use it in my kitchen. I have dark cabinets & mulberry-ish counter tops. I think this would be a great DIY project.

  35. After I read your review I really want this product! I would use it in my kitchen and bathrooms (I don’t have to pick just one spot do I?!) Our cabinets are worn and need some love. I’ve been wanting to do something with them for a long time now but can’t afford the complete kitchen redo.

  36. I have been trying to figure out what to do with my kitchen cabinets. I was so happy to see your review of this product. It seems like the answer I was looking for. Thanks!!!

  37. I would use it on my kitchen cabinets. I have spent the last few week removing old wallpaper and getting my kitchen ready for repainting of the walls and cabinets. I don’t have the paint yet but, can’t wait to make my kitchen lighter with a cleaner feel!

  38. I’d definitely use this on the kitchen cabinets…or maybe the bathroom cabinets?…nah, we’ll go Kitchen!

  39. Ooh! Winning would be a dream come true! My new-to-me house has the original 1985 bathroom cabinets – let me tell you, they have not aged well! My budget is stretched five ways til Sunday, so any help would be so great!

  40. I’d use this in my kitchen! I’ve thought of repainting but the idea of sanding everything gives me fits.

  41. I’d use this in my kitchen! I’ve thought of repainting but the idea of sanding everything gives me fits.

  42. I’d love to use this on a friend’s kitchen cabs! I’m helping him freshen up the very dated look in there and this would be wonderful!

  43. Bathroom cabinets for sure. They’re cheap and ugly and in need of either paint or demolition.

  44. I would love to redo the dark cabinets in my kids bathroom white or my kitchen white! I have a teensy obsession with white cabients :)

  45. This would help so much to update my bathroom! Thank you for the giveaway!

  46. I posted a link to the giveaway on Twitter too. I want to try this in my kitchen!

  47. I would like to do my kitchen cabinets, they are nice but damaged due to age.

  48. This could be the answer for my dining room furniture! The table and chairs definitely need a re-do!

  49. I have a bathroom vanity that isn’t hideous enough to remove but it isn’t special either. That’s where I would start and then…the kitchen! Pick me please!!! :)

  50. This product would do wonders on my SIL’s kitchen cabinets! Such a great project!

  51. We are doing a small makeover in our kitchen. Cabinets all remain, but since they were here when we bought the home they are not the color I would have chosen. We have decided to paint the island for a contrast to the wall cabinets. If we like the end result enough, we may even do the wall cabinets in a color as opposed to the wood stain they are currently. Have been discussing this project a great deal and this product would be a great way to get started.

  52. Just doing a little DIY on our kitchen and would love this product!!

  53. My bathroom cabinets are TRASHED! They look like garage utility units. I’d paint the heck out of them. Thanks for the opportunity.

  54. We just moved into a home with lots of 80s oak. We painted cabs at our last house but I’d love to try this product in our current house. I’m planning to start in our laundry room (right off the kitchen) as the cabinets are the same there as in the kitchen . That way I can get a better feel for whether I want to commit to the kitchen at that point.

I’d loooove to give it a whirl, having already tried the typical painting route (which is doable and looked great, but I’d love to try this!)

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  55. Oh my – we soooo need this for out kitchen cabinets! They’re that light 80’s oak, while the rest of the house is vintage 1928 :-( I would love to transform them into a lovely deep wood color – perhaps dark cherry….

  56. No question, I’d do our laundry / half bath cabinets. They are dark and positively awful. Thanks for the opportunity!

  57. I would use it to refinish my kitchen cabinets. They are a light oak color, but I’ve recently installed cherry laminate throughout the kitchen so they are in need of an upgrade!

  58. I would love to use this in our guest bathroom. I would love to do the kitchen cabs but I would want to try it out on a smaller project first. Crossing my fingers!

  59. After reading the original blog posting I’ve been wanting to try it out in my kitchen but my hall bathroom could definitly use it as well.

  60. All of my kitchen and bath cabinets are in deperate need of some paint but I’d have to say I would do my kitchen first.

  61. Howly cowza…I would love to get this to update my ugly 80s bathroom vanities!!

  62. I’d love to find a used hutch for our dining room and use this to refinish it!

  63. kitchen & both bathrooms need makeovers. not sure where I’d start first!

  64. I would definitely use it to transform my builder standard bathroom vanity! It needs a makeover!!

  65. I would love to do my kitchen cabinets (or laundry room or bathroom!) They are all the same honey oak color from the 80s and I am over it. It is owned by our church (dh is a pastor) and the church has no money for updates. I would love to do this as an easier update. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  66. I would totally use it on my kitchen cabinets. I want to do a whole new kitchen remodel and this would go perfectly with it!

  67. I would use this in my kids’ bathroom. The cabinets really need it, but I’ve always been chicken to tackle them!

  68. I would jazz up an oak dresser with a fun accent color! I also have an ornate mirror that I think would look great in green.

  69. I would love to get my hands on this kit. We are in the process of updating our bathroom and I am going to be painting the cabinets myself. This kit would come in very handy. So the room I will use it in is my bathroom for the cabinets.

  70. o.m.g.

ever since i saw this on your site its been at the top of our to-buy list. our kitchen REALLY needs a pick-me-up and since we’re on a shoe string budget this is such a wonderful choice! Fingers super crossed!

  71. I am hooked on blogs and have 2 great pieces in the garage in need of a makeover. The one I cannot wait to astart on is the cabinet with the grill work in the doors. Just waiting for warmer tempature to get started on them!!

  72. I will definetly use that on our bathroom cabinets, they are oak and now have that greenish color to it, yuck!!!!

  74. I’m planning to redo my kitchen; I already have the paint for the walls, but have been dragging my feet on what/how to paint the cabinets. I would LOVE to try this system!

  75. ALL my cabinets need to be done, but right now I would settle for my 80’s oak cabinets have some magic happen to them!

I have replaced all the applicances, put in Stainless…added granite countertops – my kitchen is beautiful…except for those oak cabinets. I would LOVE to try this product!!!

    Thanks!

  76. I would use this on my kitchen cabinets, they’re white and I’d like them to stay white…but maybe not SO white. They’re in pretty bad shape. I also need to figure out how to take care of some nicks in the edges of the doors, too…any ideas, ladies?

    Thanks for the giveaway, CG!

  77. My kitchen and bathroom cabinets are original to house which was build in 1967. They aren’t in great shape and should be replaced BUT I can’t replace them right now. Maybe in a few years. Refreshing them with the Cabinet Transformations kit would make me soooooo happy.

  78. I WANT THIS!!!! LOL If I won the small one, I would use it in the bathroom. If I won the large one, in the kitchen. I would take either!

I am working on one room a month at my house and this would just be perfect!

  79. We moved into our house a little over a year ago. We are constantly making small improvements (can’t afford to do all at once! haha) as it was a foreclosure home that definitely has room for repair and improvement. The house has light wood cabinets that I would love to match with our dark wood dining room set and other furniture.

  80. I would definitely use this on our ugly oak bathroom cabinets! Goodbye orangey wavy stripes. Hello! beautiful cabinet. Thank you for the opportunity!

  81. What a great product – I love the glazing look and it looks like it might be doable for even a new DIY person like myself! I would use this in our children’s bathroom to bring some life back to the old cabinets there. Thanks for reviewing such a cool new product. I doubt I’ll win the prize, but at least I know what to look for when we get to that project!

  82. I actually planning on repainting my kitchen cabinets this summer so this would be very handy! I would obviously use the big kit> they are an ugly yellowish brown that I am SSOOOO sick of.

  83. Ooh! I have just the piece of furniture in mind. It’s loooong overdue for a makeover, and this product would be perfect.

  84. This is awesome. I would def have to use it on my kitchen cabinets since my kitchen opens up to the entry and living area.

  85. I would use this at my sister-in-law’s house. She REALLY wants to re-do her kitchen cabinets. thank you for the giveaway.

  86. I would use it in the kitchen–we just tiled the backsplash and floor. A cabinet makeover would be wonderful!

  87. i’d love to win this! we just moved into a house where the landlords gave us free reign to do anything we want, except knocking down walls. the kitchen cabinets desperately need a face lift.

  88. In the kitchen in the house we have for sale. It’s been up for sale for nearly a year, maybe pretty cabinets would make it sell! Thanks!

  89. I’d love to give this to my parents as a gift for their master bath–pretty much nothing has been updated in our house since I was born almost 25 years ago, and I think they deserve a little pampering. They’ll love this since they can reuse their current cabinets instead of feeling guilty for getting something new!!

  90. I would use it in my kitchen. I have wanted to paint my cabinets for a long time – this would be the perfect product to try! Thanks for the chance to win!

  91. I have been wanting to try this for a long time… If I got 2 I would give one to my MIL who would like to redo her kitchen cabinets and I would use one for a few pieces of random furniture that needs an update! THANK YOU!!!

  92. I would LOVE to win this! I’ve been wanting to paint my kitchen cabinets white. They are builder’s grade oak – nothing exciting. But, I have MANY cabinets in my kitchen, which is why I have resisted taking the plunge!

  93. My sweet sister has been dying to redo her cabinets, but with a baby on the way it has been put on hold. If I won this giveaway, I would definitely use the kit to redo her cabinets for her! Thanks, CG!

  94. Rustoleum is coming out with some AMAZING products! If this baby became mine, I would use it in our master bathroom vanity cabinet. Its the only room in our new house that we left untouched. I would love to bring that room to full glory with the rest of our newly remodeled home!
    Thanks for the chance :)
    Have a wonderful weekend!!!

  95. I have had the pamphlet hanging on my kitchen cabinets for a couple months and I can’t seem to pick a color, but they desperately need it!

  96. I would use it on my kitchen cabinets. Right now they are builder-oak and UGLY! Even without winning they are the next to go!

  97. Totally my kitchen… we had been talking about brightening up the space with white or cream, but I love some of the grey tones they have.

  98. I would want to try the bathrooms first then give the kitchen a shot. The kitchen might need two of the large kits so a practice with the bathroom would be great first. :) Thanks Kate and Rustoleum for this great offer.

  99. Oh my kitchen cabinets sooooo need this!! Right now they are a pale-creamy-once-upon-a-time-white on the front and the sides are a faded, purple-ish blue, faux driftwood color…definitely in need of help,

  100. I would so use this on my kitchen cabinets, they are so in need of an update!!!

  101. My kitchen is so in need of a makeover! We bought our house from a couple that were 94 and 88 years old. They left everything original from 1960, except for the 1979 Magic Chef oven. We have been dying to paint the cabinets white, but have been afraid we won’t do a good job.

  102. Oh that is fabulous! I’ve been wanting to change my builder master bath cabinets and this would be wonderful. Thank you for the chance!

  103. Our kitchen cabinets have a glossy finish that is wearing off in several places and the finish needs to be redone. I am very excited about this kit because I know if we had to sand them down we would never attempt it. Also, I don’t want them stained but would rather have them painted in a warm color. I would love to have a chance to try this kit. Thank you!.

  104. I would love to do the cabinets in my kitchen! I got my center island done but unsure of what to do with the rest!

  105. I have been dreaming of re-doing my kitchen cabinets since we moved into our house. Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

  107. I would use these on a desk and filing cabinet in our office area.

  108. I just got online to find reviews for Cabinet Transformations after picking up a pamplet at Home Depot yesterday. Our Kitchen could be fantastic with updated cabinets. My only decision is to go lighter (Quilter’s White?) or darker (Chocolate?). After pricing new cabinets. I’m excited to find out I can still afford a “new” kitchen!

  109. I am dying to refurbish our kitchen cabinets and this would be just the thing! Great giveaway!

  110. I absolutely would use this to update my kitchen cabinets asap! When I saw your post about testing this stuff out I was instantly hooked- I’ve been wanting to fix up the cabinets since we moved in two years ago but couldn’t get over the thought of having to sand/clean/etc. before even attempting to start painting!

  111. I am hooked on blogs and have 2 great pieces in the garage in need of a makeover. The one I cannot wait to a start on is the cabinet with the grill work in the doors. Just waiting for warmer temperature to get started on them!!

  113. Hi, I am going to start out using it on my laundry room cabinets and if I like the results, I am going to do the rest of the kitchen with it. I would love to win this. Thanks for doing this! I love your blog – yours is the first one I have ever subscribed to on daily basis.

  114. I would use it for our kitchen. I have plans to paint the cabinets a pretty white!

  115. I would love, love, love to do my kitchen cabinets! I’ve been working slowly on one project at a time to make my kitchen look better. This would help me out a ton!

  117. I was so excited to read about this product after your visit with Rustoleum. And of course, I trust your review, and want to give it a try. I would redo my children’s bathroom. The builder white cabinets turned yellow LONG ago!

  118. I’m torn between whether I would use it in our master bathroom, or on these shelves/cabinets we have in our home office. They both need to be redone badly! I would love to be forced into making a decision, though :)

  119. My upstairs bathroom is SO in need of a pick me up! I’ve been eyeing this product up ever since you posted the bathroom remodel pics that had the vanity painted a greyish color. Pick me pick me pick me!

  120. I am redo-ing my master bath. I had never thought about painting over the cabinets, but painting them would give the bath the extra “pop” it needs! Your post on how easy it is to use makes me want to go ahead and take the plunge. It makes a cabinet makeover seem a lot less overwhelming!

  121. I want to do my kitchen cabinets AND my bathroom. I would probably start with the kitchen!

  122. I love refinishing furniture but if I win, I may give it to my sister-in-law who is wanting to redo her kitchen cabinets….if I’m feeling very generous, I’ll help her use it! :)

  128. Our bathroom is looking dated. This is just the product we’ve been waiting for!!

  129. I read earlier on your blog of the Rustoleum Cabinet transformation and then the countertops as well. I will be transforming both in the basement of my log home. We have had college girls renting from us for 15 years and this year we have “re-claimed” the space as our own. I actually am reclaiming and redesigning as a little cottage getaway. Would love to win the large box to refinish the cabinets!! I posted on Twitter and Facebook as well!

Great product! Thanks Rustoleum! I love you!

  130. I would love to use it to redo my kitchen cabinets. They are that ugly light oak color. Some paint would really update the whole kitchen…thanks!!!!

  131. I’d tackle my kitchen cabinets first and foremost since the dated wood look overwhelms my tiny kitchen. Then,I’d resurface my bathrooms next. -thanks for the opportunity!

  132. A few months ago, maybe even a year ago, I tried to stain my bathroom cabinets but did not realize they were maple. Obviously, the stain didn’t take and they look horrible. I’ve been living with them for a while and would love to paint them white or dark espresso (to be closer to the stain I wanted). This product sounds awesome for that. Thanks for the giveaway.

  133. My kitchen cabinets are layered with ugly white paint. I didn’t do it, it was like that when we moved in. I would looooove to re-do them!

  134. I posted on my FB Page.

  141. My Guest Bedroom furniture needs to leave the 80’s, and I think this is just the kit to help it out!

  142. I’d use it on our coffee table and end tables. They’ve been in the garage for a year and a half just waiting to be painted!

  143. My master bath with those builder special, ugly and old cabinets would be a perfect place to give this a shot!

  178. Oh my Gosh…just taking a break from stripping a small side table and was doing a little “blog surfing…” didn’t even know this existed!!! Have lived in 90 year old house for the last 7 years, and it is a work in progress…bathroom is upcoming which has a full wall of top to bottom cabinets (uncommon for an old house like ours, but a conversation piece) that need some TLC and would be much too costly to replace…now I have the “product” to use. 186. HMMM, so many decisions. I would start with the 1980 builders grade laminate with the wood strip bathroom vanity. Then I would move on to my other bathroom with the 1980 Bob Villa wood look cabinet – it’s so icky – I’ve cleaned with TSP several times just to get the ickies off. Any help would be appreciated. 454. We’re buying a new house with old kitchen cabinets that I would love to transform.

  455. I got a china hutch 20 years ago from my boss who had gotten it at the yard sale of his college professor. It is a cute design (made by the professor) but needed to be fixed up by my boss, who never had the time, so then needed to be fixed up by me, who has not yet had the time. This poor piece of furniture has been waiting at least 30 years for it’s day in the sun. Help me help it!!

No matter how much I clean them, they still look bad and we can’t afford to replace them right now. My bathroom doors are made out of the exact same material and they look awful too. 498. I would transform my outdated bathroom cabinets. What a difference this product makes!

  499. I would use this to redo my outdated cabinets in my kitchen and bathrooms. Might be great to make all my garage sale furniture match.

  500. I would LOVE to use this on our kitchen! We don’t have the funds for a total cabinet remodel, and they are awful!

  501. I would use this on our kitchen cupboards. They are really cheap quality, but hopefully the paint would make them look a little more sophisticated.

  502. My bathroom cabinets. We’re currently in the middle of redoing my bathroom which has been a goal of mine for awhile as never was fond of the horrible lighting on orange-ish wood cabinets so popular in the 80s. Finally heavy rains, a leaky roof, and a large ceiling hole have forced us to step up. New ceiling, new mirrors, new lights, new paint, and hopefully some new-looking cabinets.

  503. I am in desprerate need to making over our master bath it is in major need of some TLC…thank you so much cant waitl till the winner is announced. Good luck everyone

  504. Wow…sounds perfect! I’d use the kit in my bathrooms! Add new vantiy tops + this kit = bathroom updates ***done***!

  505. I would use it on my kitchen cabinets. This would be just the jumpstart I need!!!

  506. oh…i’d love this! We moved into an older house last year and I’ve been dreaming about replacing the cabinets but cant afford it. They are pickled so they give off a nice pink hue.

  507. I would love to use this product on my bathroom cabinets – SO in need of a face lift! Thanks!

  508. Ohhh! I loved your review on this product. After reading it, I wanted to immediately try it out on either the kitchen cabinets or bath cabinets. Both are outdated honey oak. Thanks for all of your insight:)

  509. Ohhh! I loved your review on this product. After reading it, I wanted to immediately try it out on either the kitchen cabinets or bath cabinets. Both are outdated honey oak. Thanks for all of your insight:)

  510. I was just looking at this at Lowes yesterday. If I won this I would start with my bathroom cabinet and then move on to the laundry room. If it turned out to my liking I would then buy some to do the kitchen. I am too chicken to try it on my kitchen cabinets first! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway!

  511. Oh pretty please! I would love to win this! My kitchen cabinets desperately need a makeover, and I’ve spent the winter gathering up the courage to paint them. This would be just what I need!

  512. I would definitely use this in my kitchen. My cabinets are a mess and a kit with specific instructions would be wonderful!

  513. My kitchen cabinet are disgusting…I know if they got a makeover they would feel much better about themselves. ;)

  514. We would use this product on our kitchen! I am in love with the linen color!

  515. We’re moving into my in-laws’ old house next month… it’s 5,000 square feet of hideousness that is being bandaided until we can afford to just replace it all. I would love to try this product on either the bathroom cabinets (shag rug up past the baseboards and felt wallpaper aren’t the only thing dating those bathrooms), or on the shelving units I’m using for my kids’ playroom.

  516. I have been wanting to try this stuff out! First spot would be the fireplace and built-ins in my family room. Then the bathrooms to get rid of the cheap looking white laminate cabinets!!!!

  517. oh my goodness! what a wonderful product! i love my 16 year old kitchen EXCEPT for my 16 year old hickory cabinets, ick. so, my project would be to re-do the cabinets! thank you so much for this opportunity to WIN!

  518. Too fun a project to start in my laundry room! Great give-away. The odds are great, but ya never know…..
    :-) Sue

  519. Ooh, I would so use it on our kitchen! We’ve been going back and forth on how to do it and this looks PERFECT!

  520. I would DEFINITELY use it in my kitchen!

I’ve been inspired by the bloggers you linked!!

  521. I have been thinking of redoing/painting my island for awhile. I was looking for a way to bring some contrast or a different dimension to my kitchen. I was also looking to redo my well worn kitchen tablle but was unsure how I could get that to tie into the maple glazed cabinets that I currently have, hence the idea for also redoing the island. However, the thought of tackling the island is daunting. This product looks like it would make the whole process alot easier and doable. Great Product!

  522. Hmmmmm. Where to begin. The bathroom cabinet in the kids’ bath? The bathroom cabinet in the powder room? The cabinets in the laundry room? I do not know where to begin! Needless to say, I need the BIG kit!!!

  523. I would use it on my kitchen cabinets. They are really old and ugly. We are saving to replace them, but it is going to be awhile.

  524. I would use this in our bathroom. It is fixing to get a major overhaul so this would add a nice touch! Thanks for the chance!

  525. You give me hope! My kitchen cabinents could be transformed from ugly 80’s to warm, cozy country!

  526. I have two bathroom vanities crying out for a makeover! I would love to win this.

    Many thanks.

  527. I would love to update our tired oak cabinets in our very own first kitchen. Our kitchen looks so outdated right now, having the big kit would totally transform it!

  528. I started redoing my very old kitchen cabinets over 6 months ago. I just don’t know how to make them look GOOD!! HELP! My family and I have lived with no cabinet doors and disarray way too long now. Thank you!!!

  529. Oh, where to begin?? My kitchen cabinets, probably. But my bathroom vanities and my bedroom dresser are also yelling “Pick me!”

  530. My kitchen in my 1968 home, might very well be the original. Top to bottom dark oak wood, and not in a good way, with a built in buffet, also matching! We are in a bad school district with twins, but a good neighborhood and everyone who sells here has an semi updated kitchen. I think this would be just enough to help us compete and get my boys in a good home in a good school!

  531. I also just posted this on FB, under Leigh Dawson, my profile for security reasons!

  532. What an awesome kit! I would have to choose my kitchen cabinets! So very cool!!!!

  533. I’ve been waiting for this kit like this for years! I have a kitchen island I’ve been wanting to paint so all of the cabinetry is not so matchy-matchy. This would solve my dilemma. Thanks for the chance to win!
    Joyce

  534. I would use this in my kitchen. I’d love to get rid of my orangey-oak and go white or cream!

  535. I would use this in my bathroom to give our cabinets an update. Would love them to be a lovely shade of chocolate brown:)

  536. Oh I’m dying to do my kitchen (and two bathrooms, but kitchen is top priority). This is awesome!

  537. I have an older home with the nasty honey colored kitchen cabinets. They HAVE to go. I would like to paint my kitchen a beautiful BLACK! I think I am crazy but my courage has been building and I am ready! My father-in-law would be so mad at me if I didn’t use the proper materials. This product looks perfect for the job!

  538. SO excited about this product! My husband and I just bought a great house that needs some serious work! We are planning to paint all the kitchen cabinets as well as refinish our bathroom vanities!!! First time at your page – referred by Traci at Beneath My Heart – so glad I stopped by!!!!

  539. If I had this, I would jump on painting my honey oak orange kitchen cabinets cream! They are the one thing I can’t stabd looking at in my house!

  540. I would use it for our kitchen cabinets. We’re in the dreaming phases of what to do with them… the awful builder’s pale oak must go.

  541. sooooo need this! tried to update my kitchen cabinets and fell short – think this could be the answer my kitchen needs!

  542. I have PINK cabinets! I’m not kidding. It’s some kind of maple-y glaze, but they are pink. I’d use this for both my kitchen and bathrooms! Hope I win!
    Thank you. :)

  543. My bathroom and some old furniture need a face lift and this kit looks like it would do the trick. What a great giveaway!!!

  544. This is so exciting!!! I can’t wait to try this out! I’m thinking my kitchen needs a re-do BIG TIME! I have these hideous oak cabinets I’d love to paint (but I’ve been afraid!!!) I think I could do it with this kit!

  545. NICE Giveaway!!!! I would love to win this to redo my kitchen cabinets.

  546. I would use it on the kitchen cabinets in our next house…it’s gonna be a fixer upper so we’ll need it!

  547. I would use this on my bathroom cabinets first to get used to it, then I’d buy more to use on my kitchen cabinets. They are orange oak. YIKES!!!

  548. I’d use it in my kitchen. I tried to ‘doctor up’ two doors months ago. Didn’t know how to make it right so the rest have been boring and beige since then. Help!

  549. Kitchen, for sure. It needs a makeover badly! We have mustard yellow countertops and flooring paired with med-dark wood cabinets. The cabinets have “good bones” but just need to be updated with a fresh coat of creamy white paint to modernize all the yellow! Right now it looks like a snapshot out of the 70s and we can’ afford to replace the counters and flooring yet. Help!

  550. My husband and I just bought our first home and our kitchen and bathrooms are in need of some help! We are planning on using the cabinet kit and the rustoleum counter top transformation kit in the kitchen and two vanities in the bathrooms. We are also going to use this on the support beams on our vaulted ceilings. Im so excited!!! Can’t wait to see the results :)

  551. I have builder-grade cabinets in our master bathroom and would love to transform them similar to the bathroom cabinet transformation that you did for your friend, Mia. That’s such a great idea when you’re on a budget and can’t remodel the entire bathroom, besides it also being a fab make-over! Thanks for offering this giveaway and best of luck to everyone!

  552. I’d use it for the upstairs bathroom! They have seen so much kid action that they need it badly!

  553. I would use it for my kitchen! That was the most “up to date” room of the house but I still need to do some work. Already bought a new refrigerator and installed a dishwasher so I am thinking white cabinets would look nice with butcher block countertop.

  554. I have been looking for a product to treat the cabinets in my house especially the kitchen. The builder installed a beautiful granite but made the cabinets a light oak color and the cabinets do not do the granite justice. This product would be perfect!

  555. I have been wanting to paint my kitchen cabinets, but haven’t worked up enough nerve yet!! These kind of projects make me extremely nervous, but I do not like my kitchen!!!!

  556. Oh my goodness! Where would I NOT use it? I have done the old cabinet refinishing projects in the past but had vowed not to ever go there again due to the difficulty. Either it doesn’t turn out right for any number of reasons or in order to get the finish just right you have to just about go crazy for awhile until the project is complete. I’ve pulles a lot of hair out and lost a lot of sleep over cabinet re-do’s. I’ve been tempted to break my vow and try this product. Now I really want to!

  557. There isn’t a cabinet in my house that doesn’t need refinishing. Even if we don’t win we are trying this out soon. Our cabinets are desperate :)

  558. Our cabinets are definitely in need of refinishing. I hate being in there because of it. This would be so great. Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway.

  597. My bathroom cabinets are on my to do list, and this kit would be the perfect motivator to get the job done.

    Great giveaway!

  598. Wow…what a brilliant idea! I have a kitchen with the old original birch cabinets from when the house was built in 1961! My cabinets make the Brady Bunch kitchen look downright modern. I’ve contemplated tackling the job myself, but I’m 66 years old and am just don’t up for the whole striping, sanding, priming, etc routine…what a huge help this kit would be!

  599. Would love to do my kitchen and master bathroom cabinets. They are dying for a makeover! I can’t wait to try it!

  600. Depending on my energy level, I would either do my hall/guest bath cabinets (I already did my master bath and L.O.V.E them so much) or get all crazy and tackle my oak-y, oak-y and MORE oak-y kitchen….that’s a whole latta cabinets, though…

  601. Dang! Why didn’t I invent this? I will def buy it if I don’t winm

  604. Bathroom cabinets. A large armoire. Built-in cabinetry in our basement. The possibilities are endless….

    nettecan at hotmail dot com

  613. I would love the opportunity to use it to redo my bathroom vanities, They both need an update! It is just boring stock from the builders I can’t wait to learn more and an opportunity to try it!!!!

I would use this in our kitchen. Our kitchen cabinets are a plain pine wood color and would really love to paint it white to go with our beautiful wood floors. I love would the opportunity to try it!! I also mentioned this giveaway on my twitter account.

  615. I will use this kit in the kitchen to paint my orange cabinets a much lovelier shade of anything! The kit looks amazing!

  616. Wish I’d had this product a few years ago when we banished the orange oak from two of our three bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room. Only the kids bathroom vanity remains…and I’d love to give it a shot!

  617. I bought a huge armoire entertainment center second hand, in a horrible light pine. It needs a transformation for SURE!

  618. I have a desk and an armoire that I would love to try this on. I also have white kitchen cabinets that I would love to paint but I would start with the desk to make sure I am happy with this.

  619. Getting ready to transform my old farmhouse kitchen and think this would be awesome.

  620. We just moved into our new house about a month ago. My bathroom cabinets need to be redone. The tile floor and cabinets are almost the same color and the counter is not much different. It’s a light granite with darker “spots” in it. I would redo the cabinets to put contrast between the floor and countertops and put some color in the room.

  621. My husband and I have been wanting to redo our kitchen since we moved into our house a few year ago, this would be a great opportunity for us!

  622. My kitchen needs it badly but the next project on the list is the two bathrooms. Both bathrooms have large vanities from the 70s. I have swag lights and all!

  623. My kitchen cabinets have been scream for a makeover for sometime. I would do them with the optional glaze in Cocoa.

  624. I would use it for my parents’ cabinets in their kitchen. My mom is dying to update her kitchen cabinets!

  625. I would love love love to use this on my kitchen cabinets! I’ve been trying to convince my husband for some time how much better our cabinets would look white. If I could do it for free that might just do the trick!

  626. I would use it for my painfully boring off-white kitchen. My cabinets are from the 50’s and my counter tops are so ugly! I need help…

  627. I would use it in our bathroom! We just retiled above the fiberglass shower unit and repainted our walls, so the woodwork is the next project to take on. It is in desperate need, too!

  628. I would love to win this for my kitchen cabinets! I’ve been dreaming of painting them!

  629. I am dying to use it on my kitchen cabinets………..I can’t stand looking at the builders grade oak any longer! As soon as it warms up I’m planning on doing them in white to brighten things up- I can’t wait!

  632. I would love to paint my icky orangey oak cabinets a beautiful and fresh white!! Help please :)

  633. Holy cow! This product is amazing! I would definitely try this first in my master bath. We current;y have a flat chocolate brown in their from the previous owners…there are some great options with this kit! The hardest part would be picking the color!

  634. I would surely love to refinish my kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets, first home, dying to get my hands dirty in a DIY project!

  635. I’d use this for an old dresser that I have. Looks like a fun project!

  636. I would use this in our bathroom cabinets…ALL OF THEM! We are currently living with “beautiful” orange oak cabinets in our bathrooms. Hope I win!

  638. Love your blog! If I won I would use it on my kitchen cabinets.
    Thanks,
    Romany

  639. Where wouldn’t I use them. I am looking to use them to get rid of the yellow (yes you read that right) cabinets in the kitchen, laundry and guest bath.

  640. What doesn’t need a touch up at my house. The bathroom and the kitchen both need it! I’d have to get my husband to weigh in and see which one should get the facelift first.

  641. I have been working on my kitchen cabinets for the past few years – yes years – time and money always an issue. Initially I used some left over flat latex paint, after cleaning and sanding, but alas, something always comes up. When I was finished with the flat paint I was going to have to buy the semi-gloss to match. This product ROCKS! My kitchen cabinets are 25 years old and dark brown. My scheme is to lighten up the kitchen without making it cold and the Linen color would be perfect for the remodel of my kitchen. It would go well with the butcher block counters I’m going to install. Here’s hoping. Thanks!

  642. My kitchen needs a new refreshed look and this kit would be just what it needs.

  643. How many kits to do all the woodwork in an entire house?
    Wish I was LOL.
Ah, but since I am only one person with two arms, will settle on just doing the kitchen, first.

  644. I would use it on my sister’s kitchen cabinets–ever since she bought her first home she’s been eager to change them, but it’s seemed too overwhelming. This makes it seem simple!

  645. We have plans to re-do the cabinets in our kitchen and both bathrooms. We’d probably start with the kitchen first, though!

  646. We live in a rental and I would LOVE to paint the ugly oak cabinets in our tiny kitchen white. I can’t imagine what a difference it would make to the entire space!

  647. I would use it in our guest bathroom that has the ugly builder grade oak cabinet. Can’t wait to try it!!

  648. I can’t decide where to start with this product! The guest bath, master bath or kitchen…they ALL need an update!

  649. I would use it for my outdated bathroom cabinets. totally ugly room that needs a major color change!

  650. Oooooh, I think my kitchen cabinets need the most help! They scream ’90’s white-washed oak!!!

  651. I’m desperate to re-do my kitchen cabinets. This would make the job so much easier!!

  652. I am DYING to paint our dated “oak” kitchen cabinets. What a great giveaway!

  653. The only room left on our 1st floor that needs a renovation! THE KITCHEN!

  654. I have a dresser from my room as a teen that’s in the blond oak wood color my mother (still) loves. The dresser is all wood and extremely sturdy so I hate to get rid of it but it doesn’t match my and my husband’s style AT ALL. This would be a perfect item to transform it into a beautiful piece that we’ll love for years! Now, which color should I choose?

  655. IN MY KITCHEN! It’s this ugly, oakey, nasty little place, that makes me feel like I’m cooking in a hunting lodge!

  656. My best friend is DYING to re-finish her kitchen cabinets and just can’t afford it right now.

  657. Freakin in my bathrooms! The 90’s called and they want their gold back. Poor things need an update :(

  658. I would totally paint the 1980’s “golden oak” cabinets in my kitchen!

  659. We have been going back and forth on painting our kitchen cabinets for TWO years. I am so nervous that we’ll botch it, but this seems like it would give me some piece of mind and courage to bite the bullet and DO IT!

  660. Hello Kate,

Because of your review a couple of weeks back, I went to HD to get a pamlet for this product so I could show my husband. I totally need to paint my kitchen cabinets until we can do a full-on renovation (probably at least 2-3 years off). The problem is my kitchen cabinets were “re-done” sometime during the 80’s with a horrible dark oak laminate veneer on top of the original wood! Since they aren’t even real wood shells anymore, I’ve been debating on painting them or leaving them until we could replace them. After your review, I was confident that this product would work and be an inexpenisve way to update a dark small kitchen for a couple of years.

    Thanks,
    Lori

  661. Even though I love all things retro, I do not love my ugly brown circa 1970’s kitchen cabinets. I fantasize often about how cool they would look in a fresh new color like eggshell blue or a creamy off-white…sigh.

  662. I would love to try this on my kitchen laminate cabinets that need to be warmed up a bit. Could be a huge money saver! If it works, I could recommend it to so many staging clients before they spend big bucks on a kitchen redo they never get to enjoy.

  663. I would totally use this in my kitchen. I’m dying for an update from my builders standard finish!

  664. Would definitely try this out on my super ugly, outdated, half real wood oak cabinets. I’ll try anything to extend the life of them since new ones aren’t quite in the budget yet!

  665. OHHHHHH!!!!! I NEED this!

I would definitely redo my kitchen. Actually I am tentatively budgeting to purchase this and do it this spring. My cabinets are a grungy oak color and definitely need some attention.

  666. OMG! I have had my eye on these kits for months. I desperately want to redo my kitchen cabinets. I’ve just been waiting for the weather to warm up and get my DIY juices flowing. Thanks for the giveaway.

  667. My house is FILLED with oak cabinetry: kitchen, laundry room, two bathrooms and hallway. It is a builder’s delight! I’ve been wanted to tackle them all since we bought our house two years ago. I guess I would start in the masterbedroom. One bite at a time.

  668. I had already planned to paint my kitchen cabinets the end of this month!! I don’t have any supplies yet, so winning this would be amazing! Thank you for the giveaway :)

  669. I would definitely use it on my kitchen cabinets. We don’t want to spend the money on new ones since we do not plan on living here forever, but they can use some updating!

  670. I would use this product to transform my hallway cabinets to a fresh white.

  671. Oh my! How I would love to paint over the track home contractor cabinets in my kitchen that I have to look at every day!

  672. What a great giveaway! I’d use this in my bathroom or on a dining room hutch!

  673. My kitchen counters are a wreck. I have a burn hole on one and they are so ugly.

  674. I would love to use this in our kitchen. My husbands grandfather built the cabinets (in 1930) so a new look to them would be extremely welcome!

  675. We are moving soon, so I know I’ll need it for everything! Kitchen mostly though…

  676. We were just talking about this kit his past weekend! The three bathrooms in our house are blond wood and I would love to transform them into something with a rich deep color. The stair railing desperately needs to be redone as well!

  677. I would love to use the kit in my kitchen….it needs a major facelift and this seems like the perfect stuff to do it! Thanks!

  678. My bathroom needs to be redone so badly!!! I have been telling my husband about this kit. I can’t wait to try it!

  679. I need to use this in both my bathrooms and my kitchen. Since I have 3 bathrooms that need updating, I guess I would start there and get plenty of practice before I attempt to tackle the kitchen. Winning this contest would give me a great start!!!

  680. I moved into my first house a little over a year ago and knew immediately that I wanted to re-paint my kitchen cupboards. I asked a painter for an estimate and he would not even entertain the job because he said the boxes were laminate and paint would not hold up on them. Along comes this Rust-oleum product that adheres to laminate and I am sold! please pick my sad faux-oak cabinets!!!!!

  681. I just told my parents about this, they really need a kitchen cabinet update, but don’t want to go through the entire process

  682. I would use this in my kitchen. We just got new tile and we are working on picking out some new countertops as well as deciding how to refinish the cabinets. This would be a big help. Thanks

  683. I’d use this product on my 1980s style kitchen cabinets. What a great way to make old look new! I’m a stay at home mom, so budget won’t allow new cabinets! What a neat product!

  684. I would use this in our very outdated 1980’s kitchen. I just did out backsplash with white subway tiles and it came out oh so pretty! In the next couple of weeks I plan on refinishing our cabinets. This product would be such a big help to revamp our ugly kitchen counters! Thanks!

  685. I had no idea the kit could be used on FURNITURE! yippee! I would love to use it to spice up some of our older furniture (our changing table & armoire from the baby’s room)!

  686. I’d love to enter! I need to re-do my cabinets in my laundry room (and in two bathrooms), and one of these would come in handy for any of those places!

  687. I would love to transform my bathroom cabinets. Ugly builder grade that are showing their wear. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  688. I would use this in my kitchen. The cabinets are in serious need of update! :)

  689. Oh I would definitely use this product on my boring kitchen cabinets that are screaming for a transformation! Thanks for the opportunity!

  690. I am planning on a major renovation in the guest bathroom this summer!! Good-bye yellowey 70’s stain!!

  694. I would absolutely LOVE to win this for a kitchen cabinet re-do!! Our current standard oak cabinets are screaming for a makeover.

  695. Oh our kitchen cabinets need this badly. The particle board is showing its true colors in some areas, so I would just patch those, sand it up, and apply this all over. Heard great things about it!

  696. Hi Kate,

  698. Well, I’m super late to this party, but think I’m squeezing in before the deadline…I needed to, since my husband I were just sayin’ this morning that the next project is painting the orangey-oak kitchen cabs! Toes crossed.

  699. I want to do this to my kitchen…plan on getting for my bedroom furniture also..Thanks for posting about this because you solved many of my refinishing challenges!!

  702. My Kitchen and Bath could use a fabulous new look! I’m all about “I completely reject the notion that second-hand is second-class.” Love to breathe new life into something left behind ;-)

  708. I saw this at Home Depot recently and stood there staring at it for awhile! lol
After years of smoking (we quit 2 years ago now) and not having a hood over the stove, the white cabinets are not so white anymore!

  709. I have been dying to try this stuff! I would use it on my kitchen cabinets, my dining room table, my son’s dresser. Everywhere I could!

  710. We just finished using this kit to re-do our bathroom. The video is informative and easy to follow and I love their tips on setting up a workstation/assembly line. I would highly recommend this product. The results are amazing. This is just the begining for us. We plan to do our other 2 bathrooms as well as our entire kitchen. This product gets 5 stars *****!!!!!

  712. Are you kidding me?!?!?!?! My internet goes down for a few days (TORTURE!!!) and I win something??? How awesome is that? Thanks so very much!!! Now I just have to devise a plan to keep James Bond from trying to take it.

  713. Would love to redo my kitchen cabinets. Think I’m too late for the giveaway though. I did post on fb on sunday late.

  714. I would love to use this in my bathroom. And in my laundry room. And on my bedroom dresser. Pretty much I’d like to win both of the kits — I’m in need.

    Thanks!

  715. Our Powder Room cabinets for shizzle!!! I have a big powder room redo on the not so distant horizon and it requires a vanity & wall cabinet revamp in a major way. This would be perfecto!

  716. Please help. I have painted my master bathroom cabinets about 1 1/2 years ago with regular paint. They really turn out with a lot of brush strokes. I need to redo them but have not attempted to do so because I have not found the solution to make them beautiful. I will use the Rust-Oleum Cabinet transformation kit in my master bathroom cabinets.

  717. I am yearning to remodel the cabinets in my kitchen! After 11 years, two kids and a husband…..they are in desperate need of new life! I love to do home projects and this may be just what I need for my summer break from teaching. It would be amazing and so refreshing to see each and every day!

  718. I posted to my Facebook wall for all my friends to get as excited as I am!

  719. Hello! I have been a faithful rustoleum product user for years!!! Recently I saw this at home depot. I would love to give it a shot, but funds are tight… I just know that Cabernet color would look simply beautiful in my kitchen on my ceiling high cabinets… I should be careful though, cause if I try it and I like it, I am likely to redo my entire house with it…. Yes furniture, bathroom cabinetry, and I will probably buy the countertop transformations so that I have new countertops to match my new cabinets…. Yay!!!
